Launch talk of the Black Asian Minority Ethnic in Engineering Student network-Swansea University


On the 30th of October 2019 Swansea University, college of engineering launched the Black Asian Minority Ethnic in engineering student network.  In order to gain an understanding of the barriers that BAME individual face in institutions they invited Professor Emmanuel Ogbonna, a professor of management and organisation in Cardiff Business School to share his findings on this subject. The talk was titled “Organisational culture and inequality: the case of ethnic minority cultural intrapreneurs” it discussed the barriers to racial equality by exploring how cultural and social differences and organizational culture affect the careers and experiences of BAME. It also explored the strategies of BAM E who have navigated the barriers successfully in organisations and how we can support BAME students.
